I was doing some research looking for a Tracy and Haring connection. Most of the research done on the Haring side has gotten lost. Our family was supposed to be related to Viscount Tracy of Galway Ireland. I was born in Ridgewood, NJ while my parents were living on Lester Lane in Saddle River, NJ. WE have a family plot over in Rockland County New York...where my mother is buried. Her father was a Haring and her mother was a Requa. Any help here would be so SO appreciate! Thanks ever so much for your help.

Guess we're the farthest branch of the family in the US. My paternal grandmother is Daisy Belle Blauvelt, Dad is Floyd Warren McCoy. Have lived in Hawaii since 1939, which is most of my life as I was born late 1938. We're back in the islands after retiring and moving to Idaho. We are serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in the Employment Resource Center. Returning to Idaho in February when our mission is complete. Our permanent address is 3609 Menan Lorenzo Hwy, Menan, Idaho 83434. So glad to find so many cousins from all over the world. Working on Genealogy but just a beginner still. I hope this note finds you both well & loving life in sunny CA. If you feel inclined to do so, drop me an email. I'm sure that Thomas would enjoy hearing from you too. The 3 little Hsus (well, actually Jeremy, soon to be 14, is now taller than Thomas & me)are living with me in Columbia and I work in DC; Thomas is living in Baltimore and was just hired to teach math at a community college...he's quite excited. So...are there any new Blauvelts to keeping Thomas company? Any plans to come to the East Coast? Glad to see your site is still active -- am disappointed with Fox. I miss the Simpson's link. My name is David Conant. Between 1970 and 1972 I lived in Piermont, NY while I was a graduate student at Columbia U. studying seismology at what is now Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory.

I can't remember how I came upon it it those days, but while hiking in some (very overgrown) woods in Blauvelt, NY I happened across some very interesting and very old military bunkers, etc. I think I learned that some of them they dated back to the Civil War and that they also had seen some activity during WWII - perhaps as a training area. I can't find any evidence of this area online and because it seeme like such a large and historically interesting area I've been quite surprised by that.

Any insight from you Blauvelt folks to shed some light on this mystery??

Thanks!

My name is Edmund Marco and it's a pleasure to sign your guest book. I work for an advertising agency in London. Our agency represents direct marketing companies that are involved in the marketing of products as seen on TV in England. Most of the infomercial products come from the U.S. but then again we export our talents as well. My brother has appeared in infomercials in the U.S. advertising various products. I think it's hilarious that English people respond so well to American products while Americans tend to respond well to sales people who have an English accent!

Great website. Am looking for information on ggg/grandparents. William A. Halleck/Hallock was born in Peekskill, NY on October 21, 1770. He became orphaned at age 12. Therefore, have no way to trace who his parents were or if he had siblings. He may have been taken in by a relative, this is also uncertain. He was a Methodist/Episcopalian Minister first in Peekskill or surrounding area, then was ordained a Deacon by Bishop Asbury in 1795. He married Catherine DeGroat in 1794, no information is found on her either. They then moved to Elizabeth Town, ONT in 1800. He was then ordained an Elder. He was fondly known as Father Hallock. Would like any information I can receive on the above. He passed away on October 21, 1836 and is buried in Brockville, ONT. I would appreciate any information I may receive on the above. Thank you most kindly. BEV-MI

Just found out about this website. My family lives in SW Ohio. My dad, Kenneth Blauvelt (deceased) my uncle Roland Blauvelt and my grandfather Isaac N. Blauvelt were all strong supporters of the ABD and contributed to Louis's initial effort with the genealogy. My older daughter now has possession of the prized "blue book". Unfortunately I let my membership lapse but intend to "reenlist". My daughters, Julia E. Blauvelt and Gretchan N. Blauvelt Senft were junior members when they were younger and alos need to rejoin. We intend to get to a reunion someday soon.

Although not a Blauvelt, I grew up in Blauvelt, NY, in what is now the Blauvelt-Norris-Burr house. If anyone is interested, I have some pics of the house from (I'm guessing) the 1940's-50's, which my parents found somewhere. Some are of lovely (although b&w) iris gardens on the south side. I have quite a few from the '60's too, when we lived there. We used to play in the Greenbush Presbyterian Church next door, amongst several Blauvelt graves. For what it's worth, the name "Blauvelt" always brings hapy memories to my brother & I.

This s complicated. I have been researching the family tree but have run across a problem. My gr-grandfather Daniel spelled his last name Blouvet. His father James spelled his last name Blouvelt. I understand that before that it waa spelled Blauvelt. Any one know any thing about James Blouvelt and his spouse Christina (McIntosh) Blouvelt? I am missing a link between james and his father. Any information would be appreciated.

Hello to all family and friends that take time to read my entry. I want to add to the family tree with my two additions. My son Bradley A. Blauvelt, and my daughter Courtney P. Blauvelt. I was born at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY to Arthur H. and Emma T. Blauvelt. Being only 1 1/2 hours from Rockland County and Blauvelt NY, I feel obligated to make all interested parties aware of the destruction and desicration of some of the Blauvelt burial sites at the hands of developers. Luckily some friends of mine have made gravestone rubbings of some of the tombstones before they were silently removed. If you research this you will know that I speak the truth. It is in all of our best intrest to preserve these resting places for future generations. With that said, may god bless you all and the memories of those that have gone before us.

Dear Ralph: I am the ggranddaughter of John Levi Van Houten and just recently contacted you. I was wondering. Do you have any information on his wife, Caroline (Carrie) Mathilda Disch? She became his widow after he was crused between two RR cars while they were being coupled. The story is that they bought him home to Carrie in a wash basket, in 1909. We know nothing about her except that her sister's names were Ella, Mabel and Katherine. May have had a brother named Arthur, who died in early childhood. Her mother's maiden name may have beed Constable.
It was good to hear from you.

I attended the annual Blauvelt family reunion near Kansas City this last Sunday and had been talking to my grandpa, Mirrel E. Blauvelt, about developing a Blauvelt web page to list information about our local reunion, so imagine my surprise when I found your page! It would be great to meet 'cousins' from other parts of the country (and if I recall correctly, would not be the first time a Blauvelt family member from elsewhere showed up), so I will include our reunion information here. (By the way, most of the Blauvelt family members around here are also included in the "Blauvelt Book", though I don't know our numbers.)

According to grandpa, our family reunion was started over 40 years ago for the Schrock family (his mother's family). At some point after his parents had children, there must have been more Blauvelts attending than Schrocks because it was being called the Blauvelt reunion. Over the years, it has been held in a variety of places around Kansas City, always on the first Sunday in August. Next year it will be the second Sunday in October at Wyandotte County Park, Shelter A.

we're distant cousins with the last blauvelt name appearing 8 generations ago.. but we live in dalaware and that heightens our abd interest as we watch the Kalmar Nyckle sail by. Actually they tried to do that as we live on the Nanticoke River which flows into the Chesapeake. They couldnt get passed a bridge that was built over local protests that it was too low.. however it was determined by the corp of engineers that no ship would ever be too tall to not be able to go up river and the rest is history.
my dutch and fr. huguenot line (bogert, kip, brinkerhoff durie, demarest) was connected by marriage into the haring family in the late 1800s. Anyway, see you all when you come back south in 2000.

I am one of the undocumented Blauvelt lines (great grandmother
was a Blauvelt from Peekskill, Westchester Co, NY). Our
daughter lives in Elma and we lived in Tumwater until my
husband retired. Interesting to find your page.

Nice to see a fellow Blauvelt on the internet. I too am a member of the Association of Blauvelt Descendants. Great organization. I am a lawyer and judge on the coast of the State of Washington. My wife and I have two children, Heather and Jamie. My wife teaches parenting for the local Community College. I'm sorry but I am not into the Simpsons. I'm into MGB's, books and Anazasi indian ruins, petroglyphs and pictographs (Southern Utah). Great to see you on the web. Send e-mail if you desire. Art.

I've been using the internet for some time and have never
thought to pull up our name before. Amazed at the number
of references. I was born in Pasadena in 1924 and am the
only remaining member of my family with the Blauvelt name.
Have to girls who will keep the spirit alive and four grand
kids. Good home page. Long live the Blauvelt clan!!!!

My brother-in-law wanted some Rocky & Bullwinkle pictures
but there's nothing of much quality out there. He does enjoy
the Simpsons, so here I am. I'm only voting for a draft-
dodging lawyer because of his record on environmental and
choice issues. First time ever voting for a Democrat for
president.

My father is originally from New Rochelle, N.Y. He is our
patriarch. The family began with two brothers who jumped
ship from Hudson's crew. Our branch can be reached in the
wilds of Maine. Just address to Willimantic, ME. Everyone
knows us. So "Hi, cousins!!" Hope to hear from some family!

Tom told me you had a Web page, so I was going to check
for it anyway when I got a piece of e-mail from you with the
site address. Good job on the Web site. Haven't been
motivated to do one yet myself.

Richard-- you need to update the photo of Thomas. . .we already
have this one and I'd like to see what he looks like now. I like
your home page and web links to Simpson sites. . .I even took
the political affiliation test -- yes, I guess one might classify
me as a "Left-Liberal" and I don't mind just so long as you don't
caracterize me as a "Bleeding Heart" ;-) My regards to Jubjib and
a kiss for the lil' one. CBH

Cute little fella on the home page.
Can you guess my identity and nefarious motive for accessing your home-page?
Hint: I resemble Homer Simpson in body, character and level of intellect. I am speling impaired (impared?).

Was just surfing by looking for information on possible Blauvelt ancesters. My mothers maiden name is Blauvelt but I have few relatives with that name since my Blauvelt grandfather was an only child.

I enjoyed the picture of your son. The oldest living member of our wing of the Baluvelt family (also a Richard) always wears a bowtie. (I thought this might have been his baby picture!!!)

Hi - cute kid you've got.
I was surfing for "Blauvelt" because I grew up in Oradell
and was looking for some history of what we called the
Blauvelt Mansion which was once there. Are you a relation?
Is the gentleman who's japan diary is posted of that family?
Just a curiosity thing. It is a shame the house is now gone.
I appreciate any responce.
